Where it came from
Little John, the lovable bear from Disney’s 1973 animated adaptation of Robin Hood, was immortalized in Funko's Pop! Disney line as figure number 1437. Released as part of a broader expansion into classic Disney vault characters, this figure was designed to celebrate the film's 50th anniversary. The design captures his signature green tunic and gentle expression, leaning into the distinct, stylized aesthetic that has defined the Pop! brand for over a decade.
The figure reflects the broader intent of the Disney Pop! series, which serves as a nostalgic archive for collectors. Funko designers prioritized maintaining the recognizable features of the animation while adapting them to the signature blocky, oversized-head silhouette. The line was received with enthusiasm by fans of the 1970s era of animation, who often look to these figures as a way to represent lesser-merchandised characters from the Disney catalog.
