Where it came from
Starkiller, also known as Galen Marek, originated as the protagonist of the 2008 video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Created for a narrative that explores the secret apprentice of Darth Vader, the character became a fan favorite for his immense power and his role in bridging the gap between the film trilogies. This Funko Pop figure, released in 2023 as part of the Star Wars gaming greats sub-line, commemorates his appearance in the expanded universe of Lucasfilm properties.
The design of the figure captures the character's iconic dual-lightsaber stance and his rugged, dark attire from the original game. Funko’s artistic team focused on translating his signature Sith-inspired aesthetic into their standard vinyl format, emphasizing the details of his outfit and the distinct glow of his sabers. Upon its release, it was warmly received by long-term fans who had campaigned for the character's inclusion in the Pop! line for several years.
