Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Disney series, Merida (number 324) depicts the protagonist of the 2012 Pixar film Brave. The figure captures the character in her formal gown, reflecting the film's central narrative conflict regarding her role as a princess and her desire for independence. It was produced to commemorate the studio's expansion of its character merchandise line, targeting collectors who sought representations of modern Disney heroines.
The design follows the standard Pop! aesthetic, characterized by a large, stylized head and simplified features. The figure is notable for its attention to Merida's signature voluminous red hair, which was a technical milestone for Pixar's animation team at the time of the film's production. While the line is mass-produced, this specific iteration is often sought by completists of the Pixar sub-series for its thematic focus on the character's ballroom attire.
