Where it came from
Michael Pfaff, also known by his stage persona 'Tortilla Man,' joined the heavy metal band Slipknot in 2019 as their percussionist. This Funko Pop figure, released as part of the Pop! Rocks series in 2023, immortalizes his distinct appearance within the band, specifically highlighting the uncanny and unsettling mask that helped cement his mysterious identity before his eventual unmasking to the public.
The design of the figure leans into the aesthetic established by the band's iconic visual branding, focusing on the textured, stitched-together look of Pfaff's signature mask. As a part of the broader Slipknot collection, this figure was produced to cater to the dedicated fanbase that follows the band’s rotating lineup and elaborate costuming, receiving a positive reception from collectors who value the specific representation of newer band members alongside the founding members.
