Where it came from
Mojo, a grotesque and power-hungry media mogul from the X-Men universe, was rendered as a Funko Pop! figure under the number 1308 in the Pop! Marvel line. This specific release was produced to coincide with the 2024 launch of the animated series X-Men '97, which serves as a direct continuation of the classic 1990s television show. The design captures the character's signature mechanical spider-like apparatus, reflecting his status as a ruler of the Mojoworld who thrives on broadcasted spectacle and conflict.
The figure represents the intersection of vintage comic aesthetic and modern collectible toy design. As a character created by Ann Nocenti and Art Adams, Mojo has long been defined by his monstrous appearance and meta-commentary on the entertainment industry. Funko designers prioritized his expansive, multi-limbed form to distinguish the item within the broader Marvel series, ensuring it remained recognizable to fans of the X-Men's more eccentric antagonists.
