Where it came from
No Heart with Book, released as Pop! Animation number 1416, was introduced as a New York Comic Con exclusive. The character originates from the 1980s Care Bears franchise, specifically serving as the primary antagonist of the Nelvana-produced animated television series. His inclusion in the Funko line reflects a broader trend of celebrating cult-classic animation villains who hold significant nostalgia for fans of 1980s Saturday morning cartoons.
The figure features the character holding his signature spellbook, a design choice intended to capture his role as a sorcerer seeking to eradicate caring from the Kingdom of Care-a-Lot. Funko designers prioritized the character's distinctively gaunt, gothic aesthetic, which stood in stark contrast to the colorful protagonists of the series. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by franchise collectors for effectively translating a non-bear character into the standard stylized Pop! silhouette.
