Where it came from
Released in 2018 as part of the Funko Pop! Marvel line, this figure captures Okoye, the formidable leader of the Dora Milaje, as she appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Panther. The item was produced to commemorate the cultural impact of the film and its ensemble cast, quickly becoming a sought-after piece for fans of the franchise due to the character's popularity and significance within the story.
The design follows Funko's signature stylized aesthetic, featuring the character's iconic red tactical armor and shaved head, complete with her signature spear accessory. Designed by the Funko creative team, the figure was intended to bridge the gap between high-action superhero media and accessible, shelf-ready collectibles, receiving widespread praise from the collector community for its faithful representation of the onscreen costume.
