Where it came from
Orko was released as part of the Funko Pop! Television line in 2017, representing a key character from the 1980s Masters of the Universe franchise. Originally conceived as a source of comic relief and magical assistance to He-Man, the character was designed with a floating silhouette, large hat, and scarf to obscure his face, a look that Funko adapted into their signature stylized vinyl form. The figure was produced to cater to the nostalgia of fans who grew up watching the Filmation-produced animated series.
The design of this figure leans heavily into the minimalist aesthetic typical of the Pop! line, focusing on the character's iconic oversized purple hat and the small, mysterious hands tucked beneath his red cloak. Upon its release, it was well-received by collectors of 80s nostalgia, serving as a foundational piece for those assembling a comprehensive Masters of the Universe shelf. It remains a recognizable iteration of the beloved Trollan, capturing the essence of the character's whimsical design within a contemporary toy format.
