Where it came from
Paladin Mike was released as part of the Funko Pop! Games series, specifically created to tie into the 2022 release of the video game Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Developed by Gearbox Software as a spin-off of the Borderlands franchise, the game features a tabletop role-playing aesthetic, which informed the fantastical design of the Paladin Mike character. The figure portrays the character in his ornate, chivalric armor, reflecting the game's shift from sci-fi gunplay to a high-fantasy aesthetic.
The design of the Paladin Mike figure adheres to Funko's signature stylized aesthetic, featuring the characteristic oversized head and simplified proportions that define the brand. As part of a wave of figures dedicated to Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, this piece was aimed at fans of the Borderlands series and collectors of gaming-themed memorabilia. Upon its release, it was received as a standard collectible addition to the expansive Pop! Games catalog, serving primarily as a recognizable mascot for the game's unique setting.
