Where it came from
Pogo, the highly intelligent chimpanzee and butler to the Hargreeves family, was released as part of the Funko Pop! Television series under number 1119. The figure is based on his appearance in the Netflix adaptation of The Umbrella Academy, a series based on the comic book written by Gerard Way. This particular line was created to capture the ensemble cast and unique characters from the show's second season, focusing on Pogo's role as a loyal, tragic figure who struggles with his human-like consciousness.
The figure was designed with the characteristic oversized head and stylized features typical of the Pop! aesthetic. Designers focused on Pogo’s signature attire, specifically his refined vest and pocket watch, to distinguish him from other simian characters in pop culture. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of the series, who appreciated the attention to detail regarding Pogo’s refined, Victorian-inspired aesthetic and his pivotal importance to the show's narrative arc.
