Raphael

The Raphael Pop! Art Series figure was released as part of Funko's broader initiative to merge mass-market vinyl collectables with distinct, patterned aesthetics. This specific release draws its visual inspiration from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, applying a unique, abstract graphic print to the iconic silhouette of the character. The figure serves as a stylistic departure from standard solid-colored Pop! figures, intended to appeal to collectors interested in design-heavy variants and unconventional surface treatments.

The design process for the Art Series involves layering geometric or thematic patterns directly onto the vinyl mold, a technique Funko has utilized across various pop culture properties to create a signature look. By opting for a bold, artistic approach rather than traditional character accuracy, the company sought to transform a familiar action-oriented character into a piece of decorative display art. Upon its debut, the figure was received as a niche addition to the Turtles line, catering primarily to completists and fans of Funko's experimental design aesthetic.
