Where it came from
Casey Jones, numbered 36 in the Pop! Comics line, represents the vigilante anti-hero from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Released as part of Funko's initial wave of TMNT figures, the design captures his signature hockey mask, golf bag full of sports-equipment weaponry, and utilitarian jumpsuit. The figure reflects the aesthetic of the original Mirage Studios comic books rather than the more brightly colored iterations from the 1987 animated series, grounding the collectible in the grittier origins of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s creation.
The design process for this figure focuses on the stark contrast between the white, expressionless mask and the dark, textured details of his gear. Collectors often prize this piece for its inclusion in the early stages of the Pop! Comics line, which sought to bring independent comic book characters into the vinyl figurine market. It was received as a faithful adaptation of the character's core visual identity, maintaining the stylized proportions that define the brand while honoring the character's DIY aesthetic as a street-level crime fighter.
