Where it came from
The Splinter figure from the Pop! Art Series was released by Funko as part of a specialized line that reimagines iconic pop culture characters through vibrant, artistic patterns. These figures are distinguished by their all-over print designs, which apply unique color palettes and graphics directly onto the vinyl sculpt, moving away from the traditional solid-color aesthetic of standard releases.
The design of this specific figure draws inspiration from the long-standing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, honoring the character of Master Splinter, the mutated rat and martial arts mentor. While Funko's internal design teams develop these patterns to celebrate the visual history of the brand, the series as a whole serves as a stylized exploration of character iconography, aimed at collectors who appreciate the fusion of modern urban vinyl art with classic nostalgic properties.
