Rat Fink (Gray)

Rat Fink was created in 1963 by Ed 'Big Daddy' Roth as an anti-heroic counterpart to Mickey Mouse, born from the Southern California hot rod and custom car culture of the early 1960s. The character represented a rebellious departure from the mainstream Americana of the era, quickly becoming a central icon in the counterculture movement and the underground art scene. Funko integrated this legacy into their Pop! Icons line to honor the profound influence Roth had on lowbrow art and automotive aesthetics.

The Funko Pop design captures Rat Fink's signature bug-eyed, buck-toothed, and menacingly hunched appearance that defined Roth's original illustrations. By translating the gritty, airbrushed textures of the original caricatures into the stylized, minimalist vinyl aesthetic of the Pop! brand, Funko intended to make a piece of subculture history accessible to a new generation of collectors. The figure was generally well-received by fans of both the vinyl toy community and vintage automotive enthusiasts who appreciate the character's kitschy, rebellious spirit.
