Red Saber Series Volume 1: Darth Maul

The Red Saber Series was introduced by Funko as a thematic sub-line within the Pop! Star Wars collection, designed to celebrate the iconic antagonists of the franchise. By focusing on characters defined by their crimson blades, the series highlights the visual aesthetic of the Dark Side, utilizing a distinct color palette that emphasizes the ominous glow of the lightsabers. Darth Maul, as the subject of Volume 1, was chosen to launch the series given his enduring popularity following his debut in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

The figure features a stylized design consistent with Funko’s signature aesthetic, capturing Maul’s intricate Zabrak facial tattoos and horns while incorporating the series-specific display base. Upon its release, the figure was positioned as a collector-focused item rather than a standard retail release, targeting fans who appreciate both the specific character design and the cohesive visual theme of the broader Red Saber collection. It was received as a strong entry for display-oriented collectors due to its dedicated, unified aesthetic.
