Ryukyu

Ryukyu, also known as the Dragoon Hero, was released as part of the Funko Pop! Animation line dedicated to the popular anime and manga series My Hero Academia. This figure, numbered 1007, represents the character in her professional hero attire, reflecting the aesthetic established by series creator Kohei Horikoshi. It captures her role as the mentor to Ochaco Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui during their work-study programs, a period characterized by the series' focus on the high-stakes training of the next generation of heroes.

The design of the figure adheres to Funko's signature stylized approach, featuring the oversized head and minimalist features typical of the Pop! brand. By translating the complex costume details of Ryukyu—who possesses the ability to transform into a massive dragon—into the compact vinyl form, the designers aimed to provide collectors with a recognizable version of the character that maintains the clean, uniform look consistent across the wider My Hero Academia collection. The piece was well-received by fans of the series, fitting into a broader strategy to represent both major protagonists and the diverse ensemble of professional heroes depicted in the show.
