Where it came from
Sango was released as part of the Funko Pop! Animation line, specifically representing the character from the long-running anime series Inuyasha. Created by Rumiko Takahashi, Inuyasha follows a half-demon protagonist and a demon slayer named Sango on their quest to recover the Shikon Jewel shards. The figure captures Sango’s iconic attire, including her demon-slaying gear and her signature weapon, the Hiraikotsu.
The design of this figure leans into the stylized aesthetic common to the Pop! Animation series, which prioritizes large, circular eyes and a simplified, chibi-inspired form. By distilling complex anime character designs into this uniform physical format, Funko aims to provide a cohesive visual experience for collectors who appreciate the blend of traditional animation tropes with modern vinyl figure craftsmanship. Since its release, the figure has been received as a staple addition for fans of the Inuyasha franchise looking to display the series' core cast.
