Where it came from
The Scarecrow Pop! figure, numbered 34 in the Television series, was released to celebrate the legacy of George A. Romero and Stephen King’s 1982 horror anthology film, Creepshow. The character is modeled after the iconic, vengeful scarecrow from the segment titled 'The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill', which featured King himself as the doomed, meteor-infected protagonist. Funko designed the piece to capture the character's tattered burlap aesthetic and decaying, foliage-strewn appearance, reflecting the film's practical effects roots.
As part of a wave of figures dedicated to classic horror cinema, this release was intended for fans of cult horror media and collectors of the early Funko Television line. The design focuses on the eerie, unmoving posture of the scarecrow that terrorized Verrill, rendered in the brand's signature stylized form. It was received as a nostalgic nod to 1980s practical horror cinema and remains a sought-after piece for horror genre enthusiasts.
