Where it came from
This vinyl figure is part of the Funko Pop! Animation line, specifically designated as number 2101, released to commemorate the debut of the Dandadan franchise in the popular stylized collectible format. The design captures Seiko Ayase, a pivotal character from the supernatural action-comedy manga and subsequent anime adaptation created by Yukinobu Tatsu. The figure leans into the series' signature aesthetic, translating Seiko's distinctive, youthful appearance—a result of her unique spiritual abilities—into Funko’s iconic square-headed, large-eyed silhouette.
The character of Seiko Ayase represents a bridge between the mundane and the occult within the Dandadan universe, often serving as a mentor figure with a surprising physical presence. In translating this to a collectible format, the designers focused on preserving her recognizable features, including her signature hairstyle and attire. Like much of the broader Funko Animation catalog, this item is intended for fans of the source material who appreciate the brand's commitment to adapting complex character designs into a standardized, accessible form factor.
