Where it came from
Released in 2021 as part of the Pop! Rocks series, this figure commemorates the legendary Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez. The design pays homage to her iconic performance at the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi in 1993, specifically capturing the shimmering purple jumpsuit she wore during the concert. This glitter variant was produced to highlight the stage presence and vibrant glamour that became synonymous with her musical legacy.
The figure was developed by Funko in collaboration with the Quintanilla family to ensure an authentic representation of the artist. Its release was met with significant enthusiasm from the fan community, serving as both a tribute to her enduring cultural impact and a centerpiece for collectors of Latin music history. The meticulous attention to her signature style and the choice of a glitter finish reflect the intention to celebrate her status as the Queen of Tejano music.
