Shere Khan (TaleSpin)

Released as part of the Pop! Disney line, this figure captures the reimagined version of Shere Khan as he appeared in the 1990 animated series TaleSpin. In this context, the character was transitioned from his original role in The Jungle Book to the part of a high-flying, ruthless business tycoon in the city of Cape Suzette. The design reflects this mid-century aviation-inspired aesthetic, featuring the character in a tailored suit rather than his traditional animal form, highlighting the show's unique fusion of anthropomorphic characters with post-war era pulp adventure.

The figure was produced by Funko as part of their effort to tap into nostalgia for late 80s and early 90s Disney Afternoon programming. By translating Shere Khan's iconic corporate look—complete with his monocle and sharp pinstriped suit—into the signature stylized vinyl aesthetic, the design team aimed to balance the character's menacing personality with the accessible, bobble-head-style proportions characteristic of the series. It remains a notable piece for collectors focused on the specific sub-genre of Disney television spin-offs.
