Where it came from
Sheriff Ralphie was released as part of the Funko Pop! Pez line, a collaboration that merged the stylized aesthetic of Pop! vinyl figures with the classic nostalgia of Pez dispensers. This particular item represents the iconic scene from the 1983 film A Christmas Story, where Ralphie Parker imagines himself as a sheriff protecting his household with his Red Ryder BB gun. The design team at Funko aimed to capture the essence of the character’s daydream while adhering to the distinct, blocky proportions and oversized head characteristic of the Pop! brand.
The figure features Ralphie in his deputy hat and scarf, reflecting the film's mid-century holiday setting. Within the collecting community, this series was received as a bridge for enthusiasts who enjoyed both the expansive character catalog of Funko and the vintage appeal of candy-dispenser collectibles. As part of the A Christmas Story collection, it serves as a nod to the film’s status as a perennial holiday favorite, celebrated for its grounded portrayal of childhood wonder and 1940s Americana.
