Shredder (Neon)

The Shredder (Neon) figure, released as number 110 within the Funko Pop! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Mighty Morphin Power Rangers crossover line, celebrates a unique narrative intersection between two iconic 1990s franchises. This specific figure draws inspiration from the BOOM! Studios comic book series where the villainous Shredder gains the power of the Green Ranger, resulting in a character design that blends the sharp, metallic aesthetic of the Foot Clan leader with the distinct green and gold armor of the Dragonzord. The neon variant serves as a stylized, high-contrast reimagining of this crossover entity, catering to collectors who favor bold, vibrant color palettes over traditional toy-accurate paint applications.

The design of this piece emphasizes the theatrical nature of the character, utilizing the classic Funko Pop! vinyl silhouette to highlight the hybrid elements of the suit. By combining Shredder’s iconic bladed helmet and pauldrons with the Ranger’s signature shield and Dragon Dagger, the design achieves a visual shorthand for the collaborative comic event. The reception within the collecting community has been largely driven by the nostalgia surrounding both franchises, with the neon finish acting as a collector-focused variant designed to stand out in a display, reflecting Funko’s strategy of releasing limited stylistic iterations of popular crossover characters.
