Where it came from
Sir Hiss, the treacherous advisor to Prince John from the 1973 Disney animated film Robin Hood, was immortalized as a Funko Pop! figure under the Disney series banner in 2016. The figure captures his characteristic lanky, serpentine appearance, complete with his iconic plumed hat and worried expression, reflecting the film's unique aesthetic which heavily utilized character designs recycled from earlier Disney projects like The Jungle Book.
The figure was released as part of the broader Robin Hood collection, which sought to bring the cult-classic status of the film to modern collectors. Designed in the standardized Pop! vinyl aesthetic with a large, square head and small button eyes, the design team focused on translating Hiss’s distinctively long, thin tail and stooped posture into the signature Funko silhouette, resulting in a piece that remains popular among fans of the studio’s classic hand-drawn era.
