Where it came from
The Sixer Funko Pop, numbered 503 within the Pop! Movies line, was released to coincide with the 2018 theatrical debut of Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One. The figure represents an OASIS avatar, specifically the standard-issue player character design seen frequently in the film's sprawling virtual reality environment. These figures were produced to capture the nostalgia-heavy aesthetic of the source material, which heavily leaned into 1980s pop culture references.
Funko’s design team utilized their signature stylized aesthetic, featuring oversized heads and minimalist features, to interpret the film's CG-rendered avatar designs. The figure is characterized by its simplistic, uniform-like attire, intended to represent the common players—or 'Sixers'—who populate the film's digital world. Upon its release, it was widely distributed across major retail outlets as part of a broader wave of merchandise aimed at fans of both the original novel and the film adaptation.
