Where it came from
The Skar King Pop! figure was released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line to coincide with the 2024 film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The design captures the film's primary antagonist, an ancient and tyrannical Great Ape, characterized by his whip-like weapon fashioned from the spine of a fallen Titan. The figure reflects the creature's menacing, lean physique and distinctive long red hair, emphasizing the character's role as a direct physical foil to Kong.
Funko’s design team developed this figure to translate the high-detail creature effects of the Legendary Pictures Monsterverse into the stylized, oversized-head aesthetic characteristic of the Pop! brand. Upon its release, the figure was positioned as a collectible centerpiece for fans of the franchise, serving as a companion piece to the various iterations of Kong and Godzilla produced for the same film series.
