Where it came from
The Spartan Cheerleaders Pop! figures were produced as part of the Funko Pop! Television series, specifically highlighting iconic sketches from the long-running NBC program Saturday Night Live. The figures immortalize the high-energy characters Craig and Arianna, portrayed by Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri, who first appeared on the show in 1995. Their recurring sketches centered on the duo's intense and awkward enthusiasm for cheerleading despite being unaffiliated with any official team.
The design of the figures captures the signature Spartan-branded uniforms worn by the characters, complete with their distinct pleated skirts and megaphone accessories. These figures were released to commemorate the lasting cultural footprint of the sketch, which became a hallmark of the 1990s era of the show. Collectors generally prize them as a nostalgia-driven representation of the collaborative chemistry between Ferrell and Oteri.
