Spider-Man (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) (Metallic)

Released in 2014, this metallic variant of the Spider-Man Pop! figure was produced to coincide with the theatrical release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. As part of the early Marvel Pop! line, it serves as a specialized iteration of the original number 3 mold, utilizing a unique metallic paint finish to distinguish it from the standard colorway. This period marked a significant phase of expansion for Funko, as they sought to capture the growing collector interest in cinematic tie-in merchandise.

The design follows the characteristic Funko aesthetic of the era, characterized by a simplified, oversized head and stylized proportions that prioritize brand consistency over anatomical accuracy. While the sculpt remains identical to the standard version, the metallic sheen was a deliberate choice by the design team to create a more premium, eye-catching appearance for the collector market. At the time of its release, such variants were instrumental in establishing the brand's reputation for creating tiered accessibility within their vinyl figure lineups.
