Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Marvel line, this figure commemorates the character Ororo Munroe as she appears in the 2024 animated series X-Men '97. The series serves as a direct revival of the beloved 1990s X-Men: The Animated Series, aiming to evoke nostalgia while updating the visual fidelity for modern audiences. This figure specifically captures Storm in her iconic mohawk-styled costume, reflecting the show's commitment to honoring the character's rich history in the comics.
The design follows the signature aesthetic of the Pop! vinyl range, characterized by oversized heads and simplified, minimalist features. Funko's design team worked to translate the distinct animation style of the series into their stylized format, focusing on the character's regal posture and the flowing, elemental details of her suit. As with the wider X-Men '97 collection, the figure was met with positive reception from fans of the show and collectors of superhero memorabilia alike, serving as a popular centerpiece for modern X-Men displays.
