Where it came from
The Strawberry Sour Patch Kid Pop! figure, numbered 11 in the Pop! Candy series, was released by Funko to celebrate the enduring popularity of the iconic sour-then-sweet gummy confectionery. Introduced as part of a broader expansion into branded food and beverage collectibles, the figure captures the recognizable anthropomorphic mascot in its signature strawberry-red hue, mirroring the real-world candy that has remained a staple of American snack culture since the 1970s.
The design follows Funko's established stylized aesthetic, featuring the oversized head and minimalist features characteristic of the vinyl line. It was conceived to appeal to both nostalgia-driven adults and younger fans of the candy brand. Upon its release, it became a frequent addition to collections centered on advertising mascots and pop-culture food icons, reflecting Funko's strategy of bridging the gap between mass-market retail goods and niche hobbyist collectibles.
