Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Television line in 2024, the Streex figure commemorates the 1994 animated series Street Sharks. This franchise was created by DIC Productions and Bohbot Entertainment, emerging during the 1990s trend of edgy, animal-themed action figures and cartoons that sought to capitalize on the success of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The figure design mirrors the character's signature look from the show, featuring the distinct roller-skating aesthetic and shark-human hybrid features that made Streex a standout member of the Bolton brothers. Funko’s interpretation captures the nostalgic, exaggerated proportions typical of the Pop! style, catering to collectors who grew up during the original mid-90s run of the series.
