Where it came from
Sweet Tooth, the iconic mascot of the Twisted Metal franchise, was released by Funko as part of their Pop! Games line. The character is based on the murderous clown Needles Kane, who pilots a weaponized ice cream truck in the long-running vehicular combat series originally developed by SingleTrac for the PlayStation console in 1995. This figure commemorates a pivotal era in Sony's gaming history, capturing the dark, chaotic aesthetic that defined the series' cult following.
The design of the figure leans into the exaggerated proportions characteristic of the Pop! vinyl style, while retaining the signature elements of the character, specifically the flaming scalp and the menacing, toothy grin. Created by Funko’s internal design team to appeal to retro-gaming enthusiasts, the figure serves as a nod to the grittier, arcade-style sensibilities of the late 1990s. It was well-received by fans of the franchise for its faithful representation of a beloved, albeit villainous, gaming icon.
