Where it came from
The Sweet Tooth & Ice Cream Truck Pop! Ride was released as part of Funko's ongoing series celebrating iconic vehicles from pop culture. It features the signature character from the Twisted Metal vehicular combat game franchise, which debuted in 1995 on the original PlayStation console. The item commemorates the series' long-standing legacy of high-octane, dark-humored action, capturing the menacing aesthetic of the protagonist's lethal ice cream truck.
The design of this piece emphasizes the distinct, industrial-dystopian art style that defined the Twisted Metal franchise throughout its iterations. Funko designers aimed to balance the character's terrifying clown persona with the exaggerated proportions characteristic of the Pop! brand. Upon its arrival, the figure was well-received by retro gaming enthusiasts and collectors who appreciated the nod to one of Sony's earliest and most influential mascots.
