Where it came from
The Vivian Ward Funko Pop! figure, numbered 761 in the Pop! Movies line, was released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1990 romantic comedy Pretty Woman. The design captures the character's iconic transformation scene, featuring her in the brown and white polka-dot dress, wide-brimmed hat, and white gloves she wears while shopping on Rodeo Drive. This specific attire serves as a cultural shorthand for the film's 'Cinderella' narrative arc and its focus on high-fashion self-discovery.
Funko’s design team utilized their standard vinyl aesthetic to translate the character's cinematic look into a simplified, stylized form. By choosing the polka-dot ensemble rather than her earlier, more provocative wardrobe, the figure emphasizes the film's transition into luxury and prestige. Upon its release, the figure was welcomed by collectors of 90s cinema memorabilia as a faithful representation of Julia Roberts' character, standing as a staple piece for those documenting iconic movie fashion history.
