Where it came from
Released as part of the Pop! Asia series, this figure depicts Wu Song, a legendary hero and central character from the classic Chinese novel Water Margin. The figure honors his role as one of the 108 stars of destiny, specifically capturing the iconic imagery of his battle with a tiger, a feat that solidified his reputation for strength and bravery in traditional folklore.
The design follows the signature aesthetic of the Pop! line, distilling a historical literary archetype into a stylized, oversized-headed vinyl form. This release was developed to bridge the gap between traditional East Asian literature and modern collectible culture, aiming to bring classic heroes to a global audience of enthusiasts who appreciate the intersection of animation and historical narratives.
