Where it came from
Released in 2011 as part of the Lego Star Wars polybag series, the AAT (Armored Assault Tank) represents a miniature-scale adaptation of the Trade Federation vehicles featured in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Designed as a promotional item, it was primarily distributed through retail incentives and toy fair events, catering to fans who appreciated compact, displayable models of iconic ships and tanks from the franchise.
The model captures the distinct saucer-shaped hull and articulated central cannon of the AAT using a modest piece count, reflecting Lego's ongoing commitment to scaled-down vehicle recreation. While this polybag release lacked the complexity of larger, system-scale sets, it was well-received by collectors for its efficiency in form and its ability to fit seamlessly into smaller shelf displays or dioramas.
