Where it came from
The Alien Flyer, released in 2009 under the Space Police III subtheme, was designed to expand the narrative of the galactic law enforcement squad. It features a sleek, aggressive aesthetic typical of the era's science fiction construction sets, characterized by lime-green accents and dark gray plating, designed to capture the high-speed pursuit dynamic between space police and the escaped alien convict era antagonists.
The set was conceived by Lego designers during a period when the company was heavily invested in space-themed modular play. It was received as a standard mid-sized set, praised by hobbyists for its compact design and the inclusion of the unique alien minifigure, Squidman, which served as a creative highlight for collectors interested in the theme's lore and distinctive character head-molding.
