Where it came from
The 360-2 Ambulance Kit was released by Lego in 1975 as part of the brand's efforts to expand its line of realistic municipal vehicles. This period marked a transition in Lego's design philosophy, as they sought to incorporate more functional, utility-focused sets that could complement the emerging modular town layouts being adopted by builders worldwide.
The set featured a simple, iconic design characteristic of mid-1970s Lego, prioritizing primary colors and a distinct boxy aesthetic to represent emergency response transport. It was received as a straightforward, accessible addition to the Legoland theme, reflecting the era's focus on creative play without the specialized, large-mold pieces that would come to define later iterations of emergency service sets.
