Where it came from
The LEGO Friends Beach Water Scooter, released under set number 42623 in 2024, is part of a broader initiative within the long-running Friends theme to emphasize diverse play experiences and accessible, smaller-scale building sets. Designed for younger builders, the set focuses on the theme of coastal recreation, featuring a simplified aesthetic that prioritizes playability and compatibility with the updated cast of characters introduced in the 2023 soft reboot of the franchise.
The design follows the established visual language of the Friends line, utilizing a vibrant color palette and specialized accessories meant to reflect contemporary interests and active lifestyles. By creating smaller, thematic modules, the design team aimed to provide an entry point for newer fans to engage with the world of Heartlake City, offering a focused narrative scene centered on beachside exploration and water sports.
