Where it came from
Blocks magazine issue 28 was published in 2016 as part of the independent, monthly print publication dedicated to the hobbyist LEGO community. The magazine was established to provide in-depth features, set reviews, and building techniques that cater specifically to adult fans of LEGO, filling a niche for editorial content that goes beyond the standard promotional material provided by the manufacturer.
The editorial direction of the magazine during this period focused on high-quality photography and detailed interviews with fan builders and professional designers. Issue 28, like its contemporaries, aimed to foster a sense of community by spotlighting the creative potential of the medium. It is regarded by collectors as a functional record of the mid-2010s LEGO landscape, documenting the transition of the brand into a more mature, lifestyle-oriented consumer product.
