BrickJournal Issue 3

BrickJournal Issue 3 was released during the early period of the publication's history, a time when it operated primarily as an independent fan-focused magazine dedicated to the adult LEGO enthusiast community. At this stage, the journal sought to bridge the gap between casual hobbyists and the burgeoning community of professional-level builders, providing a platform for complex building techniques and interviews that were rarely covered in mainstream media. The publication emerged from the passion of its founder, Joe Meno, who aimed to create a cohesive voice for a hobby that was rapidly transitioning from a children's pastime into a sophisticated creative outlet for adults.

The design and editorial focus of this issue centered on highlighting the architectural and artistic potential of the plastic brick medium, featuring detailed tutorials and spotlights on independent designers. By showcasing custom models and intricate layouts, the editorial team intended to inspire readers to push the boundaries of their own collections. The issue was received warmly by the AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) community, serving as an important archival record of the techniques and building styles prevalent during that specific era of the hobby's development.
