Where it came from
BrickJournal, founded by Joe Meno, emerged as the premier magazine dedicated to the LEGO hobbyist community, filling a void for adult fans of LEGO who sought deeper analysis and technical content than standard promotional material offered. Issue 28, released in 2014, maintains the publication's signature commitment to showcasing intricate builds, industry interviews, and the evolution of the brick as both a toy and an artistic medium.
The design and content of issue 28 reflect the magazine's long-standing editorial philosophy of bridging the gap between casual play and professional-level model design. By highlighting community-driven projects and specialized building techniques, the issue served to document the growing influence of the fan community on the broader LEGO ecosystem, providing readers with insights into the creative processes of designers who eventually moved from hobbyists to official contributors.
