Where it came from
Cole (891503-1) was released as part of the LEGO Ninjago theme, a highly successful line centered around a group of teenage ninjas. This specific minifigure was included in a promotional foil pack designed to accompany LEGO Ninjago publications or retail events. The design reflects the 'Legacy' aesthetic of the character, drawing on the long-standing history of the series while maintaining the modern articulation and print detail that define the brand's contemporary collectible figures.
The character of Cole, the Earth Ninja, has been a central pillar of the Ninjago narrative since the franchise launched in 2011. Created by the LEGO design team to represent strength and reliability, the character's visual evolution has been carefully curated to reflect his changing roles within the team. This minifigure encapsulates that enduring design philosophy, focusing on recognizable color palettes and signature iconography that resonated strongly with a wide demographic of builders and fans of the animated television series.
