Where it came from
Released in 2019 as part of the LEGO Duplo line, the Creative Fun set was designed to serve as an accessible entry point for toddlers entering the world of construction play. The set emphasizes open-ended building, providing a vibrant selection of bricks and specialized pieces that encourage children to experiment with shapes and colors, fostering early motor skill development and spatial awareness through tactile interaction.
The design philosophy behind the Creative Fun collection centers on the signature chunky, safe-for-toddlers proportions that define the Duplo brand. By moving away from rigid, instruction-heavy model building, the designers sought to create a versatile starter kit that works well either as a standalone experience or as a functional supplement to larger, theme-specific Duplo sets, ensuring longevity as a child's collection grows.
