Where it came from
Released in 2022 as part of the Lego City Trains subtheme, the Express Passenger Train (set 60337) was designed to update the modern rail experience for builders. It draws inspiration from contemporary high-speed bullet trains, featuring a streamlined aesthetic with a bright yellow and white color scheme. The set includes the Powered Up remote control system, which allows users to integrate the train into the Lego Powered Up app for speed control and sound effects.
The design team focused on playability and functional detail, incorporating interior seating and a functional boarding platform for the included minifigures. As a flagship set in the City line, it was developed to serve as an accessible entry point for both children and hobbyists interested in automated rail systems. Upon release, it was well-received for its integration of Bluetooth technology and its sleek, aerodynamic profile, which marked a departure from the blockier train designs of previous decades.
