Heartlake Pet Salon

Released in 2013 as part of the LEGO Friends theme, the Heartlake Pet Salon (41007-1) was designed to expand the play environment of the fictional Heartlake City. The set focused on the nurturing and care-taking play patterns central to the line, featuring a modular building layout that allowed children to arrange the grooming area and pet playground to suit their own creative narratives. This iteration was part of the second major wave of the Friends theme, which successfully utilized a specific color palette of pastels and bright accents to distinguish it from traditional LEGO system sets.

The aesthetic of the Heartlake Pet Salon was crafted to appeal to a younger demographic interested in character-driven roleplay, moving away from the more industrial or science-fiction themes common in other LEGO series at the time. Featuring mini-doll figures rather than traditional minifigures, the set was designed by the LEGO Group’s dedicated design team to emphasize detailed accessories and expressive storytelling. Upon its release, it was well-received by the market for its cohesive integration of accessories like soaps, brushes, and grooming stations, solidifying its place in the early growth of the Friends line.
