Heartlake Puppy Daycare

Released in 2016 as part of the Lego Friends theme, the Heartlake Puppy Daycare set was designed to expand the play possibilities within the fictional town of Heartlake City. The set focused on the caretaking aspect of the Friends line, featuring characters Andrea and Mia as they look after a pair of puppies. Its development followed the established design language of the theme, characterized by bright, pastel-heavy color palettes and modular, open-backed building styles intended to facilitate small-hand interaction and role-playing scenarios.

The set was received as a standard entry in the Friends series, appreciated by collectors for its inclusion of specialized animal figures and functional building elements like the dog agility course. Designers aimed to provide a comprehensive play experience that emphasized empathy and pet responsibility, mirroring the broader pedagogical goals of the Friends series at the time. Like other sets in the 2016 wave, it reflected Lego's shift toward more character-driven narratives, reinforcing the distinct personalities of the core cast while maintaining compatibility with the wider Lego system.
