Where it came from
The LEGO Minifigure DFB Series, released in 2016, was a specialized collection created in partnership with the German Football Association to coincide with the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament. The set features fifteen individual members of the German national football team alongside their head coach, Joachim Löw. This collection was notably marketed exclusively within Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, making it a highly sought-after series for international collectors due to its limited regional availability.
The figures were designed to capture the likenesses of iconic players such as Mesut Özil, Thomas Müller, and Manuel Neuer, each accompanied by a football and a display stand. The design team focused on incorporating the authentic team kit aesthetics of the era, which marked a departure from generic minifigure designs. Upon release, the series received significant attention from both the LEGO enthusiast community and football fans, quickly becoming one of the most recognizable and distinct licensed series in the Collectible Minifigures line.
