LEGO Mixels - Series 9 - Display Box

Released in 2016, the Series 9 Mixels display box represents the final installment of the collaborative project between LEGO and Cartoon Network. The series was designed to showcase small, modular character builds categorized by distinct color-coded tribes, reflecting the zany and expressive aesthetic of the source animation. These boxes were primarily distributed to retail outlets to house the individual polybag sets, serving as both a functional point-of-sale display and a collectible container for enthusiasts of the short-lived but highly influential theme.

The character designs for Series 9, including the Trashoz, Nindjas, and Newzers tribes, were developed by LEGO designers in close cooperation with Cartoon Network animators to maintain consistent personality and articulation across the small part count. While the Mixels line was celebrated for its creativity and affordability, the series was retired shortly after this final wave. The display box has since become a sought-after relic among completists of the theme, serving as a reminder of the unique bridge between television character design and plastic construction toys.
