Where it came from
Lloyd Garmadon, the Green Ninja, was released as a promotional minifigure in 2017 as part of the LEGO Ninjago Movie tie-in products. Designed to coincide with the film's release, this iteration of the character reflects the refreshed aesthetic of the movie line, characterized by more intricate torso printing and specific weaponry designs compared to the earlier television series variants.
The character design was spearheaded by the LEGO Group's internal design team, aiming to translate the cinematic version of Lloyd into a collectible form that captured his role as the leader of the Ninja team. The figure was well-received by fans of the theme, praised for its detailed print work and the accuracy with which it represented the film's source material, marking a significant entry for collectors focusing on the Ninjago Movie lineup.
